This class is replacing the Learn to Sew class and the Heirloom Workshop. Learn to sew garments with a sewing machine or serger, work on heirloom projects, or get help with unfinished class projects. FRENCH SEWING AND LACE SHAPING FOR BEGINNERS

This is a pre-requisite for all of the Martha Pullen Heirloom classes. Learn to join lace to lace, lace to entredeaux, entredeaux to fabric and other French Sewing techniques. CATHEDRAL WINDOW TABLE RUNNER

Grab a Jelly Roll, Bali Pop, or cut your leftover fabrics into 2 1/2" strips. We'll start with a specialty candle wicking foot, try a pretty thread, and select a few decorative stitches. Your decorative stitches will peek through the cathedral windows and are really fun to make. You decide how many fabrics and strips you want to use for a short runner or a bit longer.      Teacher: Ann $30

Have fun with all the specialized embroidery techniques on your Epic, icon or Brilliance 80 embroidery machines. Start with the applique feature to create a special shape. Add a name, decorative stitches and small embroidery. Learn to manipulate appliques, resize and shape your lettering, add stitches into the hoop, change stitch-out order, color change and sort. We will use the Premier+2 Modify module to edit a design into seven new elements. Then we will use Encore to build a larger design that can be used for a table runner. We will incorporate the use of Split Project Wizard to cut this full design into the proper size to stitch out in the 360X200 hoop. Premier Modify module will be used in this lesson. Blocks with triangles and applique. We'll use Pat Sloan's "Teach Me to Make My First Quilt" book to make a small quilt or table runner from start to finish. The Embroidablock of the month combines the Hoopsisters technique of piecing, applique and quilting in the hoop.  Both Fleur de Lis and Sisterhood come in all the popular machine formats and in five sizes. BLOCK OF THE MONTH CLASSES

 

GNOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

You will have this adorable 50" X 62" wall or lap quilt done for Christmas 2019! Beginners can learn to applique in this class and experienced students can try a variety of advanced applique stitches. Gather with friends to work on a block kit each month for eight months. Each quilt will look different because you will choose your favorite colors for the sashing and borders. $22 per month. Teacher: Ann

Appleton: First Tuesday each month.   9-12 or 5:30-8:30 Last two classes are May 7th and June 11th

 

NEW-FIESTA DE TALAVERA

This is a new Embroidery Block of the Month. So, if you loved Affairs of the Heart class, then try this new quilt challenge from the same company. You will learn to re-hoop multiple times to create 20" finished floral blocks---what fun! We will make nine blocks, then finish with an embroidered border. You choose your background fabric, Ann will provide pre-cut batik pieces each month for the block. Teacher: Ann $22 per month

Appleton: Tuesdays, July 9th August 6th September 10th and October 1st  9-1 or 5:30-8:30

 

QUEEN AND HER COURT II

Queen and Her Court II is a special 10th Anniversary Quilt Design. Featuring traditional block designs and piecing techniques along with beautifully appliqued flowers and vines. The rose, blush sage, grey and neutral floral on black is gorgeous. Finished size 96" X 108" $25 Teacher: Deb

CLASS POLICY

In order to insure your place in class, payment must be made at the time of registration. Please register early so teachers and students can plan ahead. Refunds will only be given if the teacher cancels the class due to low enrollment or emergency. No exceptions. Cancellations will be made two days prior to class. You may send someone else in your place if you cannot attend. Class fees are not transferable to other classes unless the class is canceled. Classes canceled due to bad weather will be re-scheduled or refunded. Please pick up the supply list and supplies prior to class. Most classes require the purchase of a pattern or book; this is required per copyright laws. You will receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the list. 

 

CLASSROOM MACHINES

Husqvarna Viking sergers, sewing and embroidery machines are available for classroom use at NO CHARGE! Please let us know if you want to use one, so we can get it ready for you. This is a great way to test drive - before you buy.

 

TRADE-UP POLICY

When you purchase a new or previously loved sewing machine or serger from Sew n Sew, you have a full year to upgrade that machine and receive 100% of your purchase price toward the MSRP price of a new machine. Minimum of $300 to be considered an upgrade.
