LEARN TO SEW - BRING YOUR THING

Learn basic sewing techniques for garment, home dec, or craft sewing. What is the proper seam allowance? How do I put in a zipper? Set in a sleeve? Attach a collar or waistband? What is a dart? How do I gather? This project based class is for anyone who wants to learn to sew or needs help finishing previous class projects or Christmas gifts. MINOR SERGERY

This basic class will give you the confidence to serge ahead. Whether you have a serger you are unsure of, or want to try before you buy. This class is for you. PAPER PIECING THROUGH THE YEAR

We’ll use a great book from Kimberbell with patterns for each month/season. Plus they come in three different sizes. Paper piecing can be fun and easy if you follow the rules. Learn the technique and you’ll be using up scraps like crazy. Make a mini quilt, ornament, or combine a trio of designs into a table runner.  $15 Teacher: Ann

HEIRLOOM WORKSHOP

Choose the heirloom class of your choice and work at your own pace for as many hours as will fit your schedule. INTRODUCTION TO AFFAIRS OF THE HEART

This is a beautiful embroidered appliqué embroidery collection featuring thirty-six 6” or 8” floral blocks. FRENCH SEWING AND LACE SHAPING FOR BEGINNERS

This is a pre-requisite for all of the Martha Pullen Heirloom classes. Learn to join lace to lace, lace to entredeaux, entredeaux to fabric and other French Sewing techniques. DIME VINTAGE SOFTWARE BLOUSE

Let’s create our own vintage design to stitch out on a blouse or t-shirt. First we will create the design in our “Vintage Software“. RECIPES FOR DYNAMIC DIGITIZING

Start with the basics ingredients of digitizing: running stitches, satin stitches and fill areas. Kick it up as we blend those together and toss in some specialty fills, add a dash of motif stitches and whip up a unique embroidery design. 6D Premier, Premier+ Ultra required. BEGINNING QUILT CAMP 1

Four patch, Rail Fence, Log Cabin. We’ll use Pat Sloan’s “Teach me to Make My First Quilt” book to make a small quilt or table runner from start to finish. That’s right! We’ll start with rotary cutting guidelines and end with quilting using a walking foot and binding. No experience necessary, and we’d be happy to let you test drive a user friendly Husqvarna Viking sewing machine. Two person teams and advanced quilters are welcome. $60 Teacher: Ann

INTERMEDIATE SOFTWARE - CROSS STITCHER MODULE

In this class we will explore all the different ways of creating a cross stitch design in our software. We will use the wizard to quickly replicate needlework in a fraction of the time. Load a picture and scan a hand cross stitcher chart and manually place stitches. There is a multiply feature that lets you create some awesome designs. We will use a true type font to create lettering. Lastly we will create some of our own shapes and use some of the pattern fills built into the software. The Embroidablock of the month combines the Hoopsisters technique of piecing, appliqué and quilting in the hoop.  Both Sisterhood and Charmed Adventure come in all the popular machine formats and in five sizes. . Charmed Adventure features either a paper pieced center surrounded by 5 other unique blocks or a sampler version using just the five blocks. Each of the five blocks can also become a one block wonder quilt. Nancy Halverson’s latest book “Imagine” features monthly small wall quilts or quilt blocks for a large quilt. NEW- PAINTERS GARDEN

Painters Garden by Nancy Rink is a nine month pieced block of the month featuring Studio 37 Fabrics. The center of each block features either appliqué or pieced technique or a combination of both. Finished quilt measures 102X102. Join us, for this beautiful quilt starting in March. $25 includes monthly fabric kit. Book required.

CLASS POLICY

In order to insure your place in class, payment must be made at time of registration. Please register early so teachers and students can plan ahead. Refunds will only be given if the teacher cancels the class due to low enrollment or emergency. No exceptions. Cancellations will be made two days prior to class. You may send someone else in your place if you cannot attend. Class fees are not transferable to other classes unless the class is cancelled. Classes cancelled due to bad weather will be re-scheduled, or refunded. Please pick up supply list and supplies prior to class. Most classes require the purchase of a pattern or book; this is required per copyright laws. You will receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the list. If you purchased your sewing machine or serger from Sew n Sew your class discount is 15%.

 

CLASSROOM MACHINES

Husqvarna Viking sergers, sewing and embroidery machines are available for classroom use at NO CHARGE! Please let us know if you want to use one, so we can get it ready for you. This is a great way to test drive - before you buy.

 

REQUEST A CLASS

Couldn’t make it to a class you really wanted to take? Find two friends to take the class with you and we will try to schedule a date for you. Your requests are always welcome for future newsletters as well.

 

MAINTENANCE

Have a yearly tune-up on your sewing machine or serger to extend the life of your machine and avoid costly repairs. Our technicians will clean, lubricate, check timing and tension for $99 on any machine purchased at Sew n Sew and $149 on any brand of sewing machine or serger purchased elsewhere. New or pre-owned machines purchased from Sew n Sew receive the first year for half price. Epics and icons will be $100 more effective 1/1/2018. We have several options available to cut down on turn around time and get your machine back sooner: 1- call to find out when our monthly blitz is scheduled. 2- Call and have your “marker” put in line and we will call you a couple days before your turn.

 

TRADE-UP POLICY

When you purchase a new or previously loved sewing machine or serger from Sew n Sew you have a full year to upgrade that machine and receive 100% of your purchase price toward the MSRP price of a new machine. Minimum of $300 to be considered an upgrade.
