JANUARY 2021

Happy New Year to all! As we begin 2021 we would like to thank-you for your business, support and friendships. February 1st marks our 25th year in business and that calls for celebration! We have lots of classes scheduled for your edutainment. Some new, some good old basics. We will continue to provide safe classes for all by limiting the numbers according to the recommendations at the time of the class. Our classrooms are large enough to properly distance 6-8 people, as required right now. We will add special guest educators as they become available for travel. KIMBERBELL- FILL IN THE BLANKS

Join us for the all new “fill in the blanks” projects. Each month will feature a new “blank” and a free embroidery design to go with it. There is also a sewing version available. SEWING WORKSHOP

This will be a “back to basics” class for embroidering a quilt block from Anita Goodesign. Now let’s create a glitzy pillow using the sequin technique we just practiced. Our glitzy pillow starts with an embroidered background. Then comes the fun! We will add some sequins to the embroidered flowers, then stitch some theme stitches wandering through the flower garden. We will use the Premier+2 Modify module to edit a design into seven new elements. Then we will use Encore to build a larger design that can be used for a table runner. LET GO OF MY GECKO

This is a one-hooping embroidery project. Make one, and you’ll want to make more, simply because there are so many specialty fabric options to choose from. Options include vinyl, cosplay, glitter, sequins etc. The best part of the way your gecko is made is that this stuffed animal doesn’t have to be turned right side out! You decide what filling to use and if your gecko is lazy or active. This gecko was created in the Premier +2 software. These fun creatures make great stocking stuffers. $15 Teacher: Ann

DRUNARD’S PATH

This is the class to tackle stitching curved seams. First we’ll  stack and cut six layers of block pieces at one time. Next you’ll learn to pin and stitch curved seams with a “P” foot. The best part will be arranging your 4” blocks into 8” 12’ 16” or 20” blocks. The variety of block patterns you can create are amazing. This will be a fun and easy class for new embroidery enthusiasts and experienced alike. Each month will feature a “blank” and free design to embroider or applique. January features a chambray tote and design “sparkle like you mean it” design with glowing fairy lights and colorful applique blossoms. BLOCK OF THE MONTH - A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS

Combine traditional pieced blocks along with beautiful appliqué blocks to create this gorgeous quilt. Choose your background fabric, and borders. FOOT OF THE MONTH - FABRIC FUN

Fabrics, feet and more… This wall hanging includes paper pieced leaves and flowers, endless embroidered borders, and a unique pleated border. We will do a little quilting, either free motion or use your Interchangeable Dual Feed foot. End with using the “new” Quilt Binder Attachment. Come and join the fun!

Designing your own lace designs is easy, no digitizing skills required. The software has all the tools you need to transform any embroidery design into freestanding lace. We will explore the many features of My Lace Maker software. $15 per lesson unless you already have the USB .

CLASS POLICY

In order to ensure your place in class, payment must be made at time of registration. Please register early so teachers and students can plan ahead. Refunds will only be given if the teacher cancels the class due to low enrollment or emergency. No exceptions. Cancellations will be made two days prior to class. You may send someone else in your place if you cannot attend. Class fees are not transferable to other classes unless the class is cancelled. Classes cancelled due to bad weather will be re-scheduled or refunded. Please pick up supply list and supplies prior to class. Most classes require the purchase of a pattern or book; this is required per copyright laws. You will receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the list.  NEW-- Class sizes may be limited, so sign up early. If we reach maximum size we will start a waiting list and schedule another date.

 

CLASSROOM MACHINES

Husqvarna Viking sergers, sewing and embroidery machines are available for classroom use at NO CHARGE! Please let us know if you want to use one, so we can get it ready for you. This is a great way to test drive.

 

TRADE-UP POLICY

When you purchase a new or previously loved sewing machine or serger from Sew n Sew, you have a full year to upgrade that machine and receive 100% of your purchase price toward the MSRP price of a new machine. Minimum of $300 to be considered an upgrade.
