TEXTURE WORKSHOP WITH KAREN CHARLES - AUGUST 26

JENNY HASKINS TOUCH OF MAGIC TOUR - SEPTEMBER 22 &23

PAPER PIECING THROUGH THE YEAR

We’ll use a great book from Kimberbell with patterns for each month/season. Plus they come in three different sizes. Paper piecing can be fun and easy if you follow the rules. Learn the technique and you’ll be using up scraps like crazy. Make a mini quilt, ornament, or combine a trio of designs into a table runner. $15 Teacher: Ann 9-12 or 5:30-8:30

EDGE TO EDGE EMBROIDERY QUILTING

POCKET PLACEMATS

Placemat forms are the perfect base to build your placemat. This model begins with easy piecing and is quilted in the ditch. STABILIZER SEMINAR

This hands-on lecture will introduce you to the many stabilizers on the market today. You’ll label samples to take home and receive notes on their uses to refer to for future projects. Many ideas for using stabilizers beyond embroidery projects will be shared, as well as embroidery dos and don’ts.

BATHROOM ACCESSORIES

Pick seasonal or novelty fabrics to brighten up your bathroom. Start by quilting a 24X24 top with either Edge to Edge Designs or Anita Goodesign Quilting designs, learning how to hoop and re-hoop. This will turn into a toilet seat cover. Use a matching stripe fabric to co-ordinate some towels. Ideas will be shared for tissue box covers and toilet paper holder to carry out the theme. $30 Teacher: Bonnie

DESIGNER  SHAPING CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS PILLOW

This is an advanced Design Shaping class for Designer Epic, Diamond, deLuxe, and Royale owners. Embroider ornaments you design using your machine’s decorative stitches to create an elegant holiday pillow. The ornaments are suspended using yarns and ribbons that you’ll attach with specialty feet. Learn to insert an invisible zipper for the closure on the pillow back. $30 Teacher: Ann

FREE MOTION SAMPLER

You can choose to draw boxes on a whole cloth or bring in a pieced sampler. In each block you’ll test drive a different method of free-motion quilting. Of course you’ll learn to use your machine and different accessory feet, but you’ll also try the Westalee Design Ruler Foot and Templates from Sew Steady, and the Platinum 16 Sit-down Quilting Machine. HEIRLOOM LACE SHAPING QUILT

Combine the best of two different quilts from the book “Martha’s Quilts” to create your own masterpiece of heirloom techniques. We will take the best blocks from “The Blue Linen Quilt” and the “Heirloom Sampler Quilt” to create a one of a kind sampler with new and different lace shaping techniques in each block. HOOPSISTERS-- 2016/2017 ELEGANT ELEMENTS and 2017/2018 CHARMED ADVENTURE

The Embroidablock of the month combines the Hoopsisters technique of piecing, appliqué and quilting in the hoop.  Both Charmed Adventure and Elegant Elements come in all the popular machine formats and in five sizes. Both are a ten month programs. Elegant Elements features dimensional effects including cathedral window, pinwheels, and more.. The new Charmed Adventure features either a paper pieced center surrounded by 5 other unique blocks or a sampler version using just the five blocks. In order to insure your place in class, payment must be made at time of registration. Please register early so teachers and students can plan ahead. Refunds will only be given if the teacher cancels the class due to low enrollment or emergency. No exceptions. Cancellations will be made two days prior to class. You may send someone else in your place if you cannot attend. Class fees are not transferable to other classes unless the class is cancelled. Classes cancelled due to bad weather will be re-scheduled, or refunded. Please pick up supply list and supplies prior to class. Most classes require the purchase of a pattern or book; this is required per copyright laws. You will receive a 10% discount on all supplies on the list. If you purchased your sewing machine or serger from Sew n Sew your class discount is 15%.

 

CLASSROOM MACHINES

Husqvarna Viking sergers, sewing and embroidery machines are available for classroom use at NO CHARGE! Please let us know if you want to use one, so we can get it ready for you. This is a great way to test drive - before you buy.
